Pope received the key to Krakow’s gates

On Thursday, 28th July, the Krakow Mayor Jacek Majchrowski handed over the symbolic key to Krakow’s gates to Pope Francis. Next, the Pope went to the Błonia Meadows for the Papal welcome ceremony. For the first time in history the Pope chose... a city tram as means of transport to take him to an official meeting!

The participants of the Global Summit of Women visit Krakow

In 2016, Poland hosted the Global Summit of Women, also known as ‘Women’s Davos’. On Monday, June 13th almost 100 summit participants visited Krakow, admiring Poland’s most famous city and meeting its authorities. Mayor Jacek Majchrowski and Vice Mayor Elżbieta Koterba welcomed the female leaders in the beautiful surroundings of the National Museum's Gallery of the 19th Century Polish Art.

Daniel Carlin becomes the Ambassador of Krakow Film Music Festival

On Saturday May 28th 2016, Mayor Jacek Majchrowski awarded the title od FMF Ambassador to Professor Daniel Carlin, excellent composer, producer and academic teacher. The prestigious FMF Ambassador Award was established 3 years ago. Among its winners are those who build industry connections and the brand of the Film Music Festival.

Roman Polański honoured in Krakow

Roman Polański, received the special distinction award of the Polish Filmmakers Association (SPF). The award was presented by the Mayor of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski during the Scoring4Polański Gala, which took place on Wednesday May 25th in the Krakow Congress Centre, initiating the Krakow part of the Film Music Festival.

Closed in 2009 Consulate General of Hungary in Krakow offically reopened on Friday, 14 March.
